OLEFA 11.9 now comes with a completely new group manager
A new groupmanager module is introduced, replacing the old schoolmanager and teamworker applications that were located inside OLEFAdesk. Features:
- Intuitive new interface.
- Possibility to reactivate old user accounts, that have been put to 'inactive' inside a new group. You can search by the users' first or last names, by their former group membership and/or by their period of activity. This is particularly interesting in a school context, since it avoids deleting and recreating the accounts every school year and thus offers more continuity e.g. long time portfolios of a user's contributions).
- Possibility to reactivate several users at once, for example all the former users of a group.
- Groupmasters can reset their members' passwords, edit usernames and nicknames and print password lists.
- Better handling of special characters when creating completely new users.
- Generating more representative usernames: When several persons in a group share the same first name, the first character of the last name is added instead of a number.

OLEFA Wiki's form-element: reborn!
The last update brought quite a few improvements and changes to the OLEFA-Wiki. We attacked a lot of usability problems and generally modernized the look and feel of the user-interface. We also improved the communication infrastructure on the backside, which allowed us to introduce common, but missed, features like automatic recovery, parallel edit protection and auto element-refresh.
The form-element was seriously outdated and could not be upgraded to become what we had in mind. So we removed the form-element, but promised a successor to take its place.
Today, we will keep the promise and announce the brand-new quiz-element. It is developed from ground up to fit right into OLEFA-Wiki, both in function and esthetics. It can do everything and even more than the form-element was capable of, all while retaining the same simplicity all the other elements share. You can see the quiz-element in action on Youtube.
The quiz-element will be released with the next update, but will be made open for testing on our prerelease-site starting this week. So stay tuned for further updates!
