OLEFAmobile version 1.2 submitted to Apple


Version 1.2 of the iOS app OLEFAmobile has been submitted to the App Store and is waiting for approval. It fixes some encoding bugs that could occur when creating database entries without attached images.

2012-03-01

OLEFA 12.3 now comes with better video embedding, wiki project print and better calendar handling


  1. New handling of embedded videos:
    • When embedding videos in a Wiki project, a Webbook, an OLEFAbase entry - new engine - or on a CMS page, they will be displayed in HTML5 and completely plugin-free; in new generation browsers. This will avoid that users have to install plugins and codecs, and will lead to a much faster page generation.
    • When first trying to access an embedded video, OLEFA will automatically schedule a conversion process that transforms the video in several optimized formats for streaming HTML5-embedding, so that the uploader won't need to worry about formats anymore.
    • iOS and Android support for all embedded videos.

  2. OLEFA Podcasts:
    • A new module allows to display all available podcasts, list their episodes or subscribe them as an RSS-feed or a direct iTunes subscription. Podcasts can be created as an OLEFAbase - new engine and directly be filled with new episodes from within Tiparlo.

  3. OLEFA Wiki:
    • A new print option allows to print all pages of a project simultaneously, including a numbered index of the pages and their paragraphs.

  4. OLEFA Calendar:
    • When switching calendars on or off, the entire month or week view no longer needs to be rebuilt, thus offering a faster user experience.
    • Calendars can now also be subscribed as RSS feeds.
    • Direct links for sharing specific events are now offered in the event window.

  5. OLEFAbase - new engine - beta:
    • The new comment function allows the user to edit his own comments later on.
    • The order cart is now also available.

  6. Various bugfixes and performance improvements.

OLEFA 12.2 offers a completely new database model and allows to create podcasts from Tiparlo


OLEFA 12.2 is currently being installed on customer servers.
  1. OLEFAbase: A new database model is now available as beta, offering the following main features:
    • Much faster engine.
    • AJAX-based display list offers a better user experience when executing search queries or turning pages.
    • Advanced search patterns support: and-, or- and exact-phrase-searches.
    • Searching by a hierarchical category can now be recursive.
    • Gateway for the new OLEFAmobile application that allows to create database entries, including image gallery uploads.
    • New statistic options including user-based borrowing history.
    • Printed stickers may contain general record-barcodes as well as specific element-barcodes.
    • More intuitive setup-interface.
    • Amazon- and Marc-Gateways allow to define priorities.
    • Complete ACL support.
    • Preset database templates for news, libraries and podcasts.
    Note: The new database engine will be used for databases that are created from now on; existing databases will continue using the old engine. Old databases may be converted to the new engine in specific circumstances or on request during the upcoming months.
  2. OLEFA Tiparlo:
    • A brand new podcast feature allows to create podcast episodes and publish them into an OLEFAbase, which also generates a feed that can be subscribed in RSS-readers or podcast-readers, such as iTunes. Please note that the podcast database needs to be created in the administration interface first using the new database engine.
    • New icon design.
  3. OLEFA Calendar:
    • When changing the start time of an event, the end time will be adapted automatically without affecting the length of the event, including overnight events.
    • When adding links or uploading attachments to repeated events, you can select if this is only relevant to the specific entry.
  4. Various bugfixes and performance improvements.

OLEFA 12.1 released


OLEFA 12.1 is currently being installed on our customer servers.
  1. OLEFACalendar:

    • Alternative link for subscribing with programs that do not support htaccess protection
    • Alternative link fixes encoding problems when subscribing in Google-calendar
    • Repetitive events do work now as they are intended to
    • Mini-calendar shows subscribed calendars

  2. Share function in tools does no longer send information to social networks before actual sharing

  3. Search function in resources manager works again.

  4. Various bug-fixes and performance improvements.
